When co-owners will be able to execute their right on land plot under apartment building?

Considering new opportunities provided by the Law of Ukraine “On Access to Public Information” and amendment to the Law "On Information”, the Civil Network OPORA sent a series of information requests concerning tariffs on services of centralized water supply and drainage, heating and hot water supply in Kyiv, Luhansk, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk and Chernivtsi.

Yesterday, 15 March, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law “On making amendments to some laws of Ukraine on Condominiums” (No.8474). Deputies declined the most “harmful” for Condominiums amendments and adopted a number of norms which will ease a life of Condominium residents, and that may be considered as an achievement of civic activists

Yesterday, 15 March the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law “On making amendments to some laws of Ukraine on Condominiums” (No.8474). This decision supported 235 out of 418 deputies registered in the session hall.

Housing and communal sector is one of the biggest consumers in Ukraine, which takes nearly 36% of fuel energy, what is 28 b. m3 of natural gas per year. 20 b. m3 of it (25% of produced energy) is spent on heating and water heating. Compare: metallurgy consumes nearly 13%, chemical industry - 11% of the total amount of gas consumed.

Mass creation of Condominiums could essentially improve the situation of housing and communal services in Ukraine. Adoption of the Bill No.8474 - is a small step toward reform of housing and communal services in Ukraine.

Ukraine has chosen the most complicated type of ownership and we mush face it. To take decisions concerning communal property without presence of all co-owners was proposed a mechanism - Condominium.
