The press conference “Facing the admission: risks and dangers of the 2011 admission campaign” took place in the “Ukrainian News” information agency on Thursday, June, 30. During the press conference the experts drew the conclusions of the EIT-2011, found out the main risks of the admission campaign and spoke about the ways of protecting the graduates’ rights.

Tomorrow, on July, 1st is the first day of the admission campaign to Ukrainian universities. We remind that in 2011 the admission to the universities will be based on the contest that includes the total score of the testing, the school certificate and the extra points.

Generally the EIT in 2011 was organized on high level. OPORA observers point out the disciplined behavior of the participants on testing points.

The 2010 returning to the eleven-year secondary education proved the absence of the state strategy in the development of the secondary schools. Due to the efforts of previous governments the educational system just went closer to the 12-year study: the new state standard of the compulsory secondary education was adopted and approved along with new study plans for all the grades: the new study programs for the subjects from the invariable part of the Basic study plan for the compulsory schools...

The Chernivtsi department of OPORA conducted the watching of extermal independent testing (IET). The delegates of OPORA attended the testing centers, communicated with the assignees from UCEQE, the people responsible for testing premises and the instructors, maintained the monitoring of keeping the rules and testing procedures by the participants and the staff.  

The press conference about the result of the EIT in Mykolaiv region took place on June, 23 in the press hall of the newspaper “Yuzhnaya Pravda”. The deputy head of the Mykolaiv regional institute of the post-graduate pedagogical education Lyudmyla Zaviryukha and the OPORA observers Viktoriya Tonkovid and Dmytro Bashtovyy shared their opinions with the journalists.  

For already two years of the observation of the Ukrainian language and literature testing there are constant problems with the testing certificates of the participants.

CN OPORA claims that it hasn’t any connection to the dweller of Donetsk Kostyantyn Lavrov, who was detained yesterday by the law enforcement cervice and incriminated the extortion of  USD 7000 for stopping the protests connected with the dismanting of the building of  “Druzhba” hotel.
