Information about parliamentary activities should be open to the public, – activists of the Civil Network OPORA think. In order to urge responsibility and openness of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and attraction of citizens to its activities, OPORA has signed the Declaration on Parliamentary Openness.

This year, the Parliament was blocked during the longest time for the whole period of independence. Oleksandr Yefremov has proposed to take decisions by a simple majority of MPs present in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada. The Party of Regions faction head has announced this proposition during the briefing on February 22.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has resumed its work after being blocked for 3 weeks. After long negotiations between leaders of factions and few minutes after the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has informed that the Rada is unblocked in the live television program Dialogue with the Country, opposition factions have unblocked the speaker's rostrum and presidium of Ukrainian parliament.

Leader of the opposition is convinced, that Oleksandr Kliuiev is the main instrument to influence the parliament, which in his turn considers directions of the President.

The Verkhovna Rada will be unblocked only in case MPs will vote with hands. Such decision was taken on the last meeting of parliamentary factions.
