Representatives of Civil Network OPORA will answer these questions during press-conference “Summary of independent citizen observation before presidential election in Ukraine” on 29 March.

OPORA hereby states the fact of the Central Election Commission making attempts to restrict rights of national observers by means of putting to vote the issue of granting permission to them to attend the meetings. The organization emphasizes that receiving such permission is not provided by the law.

As of 15 March, 2,428 membership of district election commissions have been withdrawn. This is almost one third of their initial membership. Such statement was made by Deputy Head of the CEC Yevhen Radchenko on Friday, 15 March press-conference.

On 12 March, Civil Network OPORA started to receive information from voters about phone calls from unknown persons, who introduced themselves as OPORA, asked about electoral preferences, and threatened with punishment in case of electoral violations.
