On 16 October at 11:00 a.m., OPORA is holding a press-conference dedicated to the active stage of local election, the most widespread violations, and major trends in a one week before the end of campaign. The event will be held in press-center of the Ukrinform Information Agency (8/16 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St., Kyiv).

The most widespread violations and misuse of administrative resource: 'black list' of oblasts. Where do candidates actively campaign, and in which regions they still remain silent? Which problems of territorial and precinct election commissions are critical for the election process? How did delays in and rejections of candidate registration influence the election process and equal opportunities in particular?

These and other aspects of local election campaign will be explained by:

Civil Network OPORA conducts citizen observation of local elections in Ukraine, scheduled for 25 October 2015. Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action. 144 long-term observers were deployed to all Ukrainian regions on 5 September, and 3000 short-term observers will join them on the election day.
