On 26 September 2015, at 11:30 a.m., , a press-conference dedicated to peculiarities of the 2015 Local Elections campaign will be held by the Civil Network OPORA, in the UNIAN Information Agency (4 Khreshatyk St., Kyiv)

Electoral violations: what is the scale of bribery and administrative resource misuse? Which drawbacks of the Law on Local Elections have already been noticed in practice? Problems and rotation in election commissions: do they influence the election process? Activities of law-enforcement bodies: do they efficiently respond to electoral violations and appeals from official observers? Peculiarities of election campaign in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts: is Ukraine ready to organizational and safety challenges?

These and other aspects of local election campaign will be discussed by:

Civil Network OPORA conducts citizen observation of local elections in Ukraine, scheduled for 25 October 2015. Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action. 144 long-term observers were deployed to all Ukrainian regions on 5 September, and 3000 short-term observers will join them on the election day.
