After a regular meeting of the CEC on 20 September, it has published a list of 142 political parties, which have approved participation of their local organizations in regular local elections, the first elections to councils of united territorial communities, and of the corresponding village, settlement, and city councils scheduled for 25 October 2015. The list is available on official website of the CEC.
The Central Election Commission has informed that it has received registration documents within the established period (not later than 35 days before the voting day, i.e. till 19 September inclusive) from 142 political parties However, only 132 parties have submitted to the Central Election Commission copied decision of their central administrative bodies and other documents required by the Law concerning participation of their local organizations in regular local elections, the first elections to councils of united territorial communities, and of the corresponding village, settlement, and city councils scheduled for 25 October 2015, in correspondence with requirements established by Article 36(1) of the Law.
At the same time, according to the CEC Resolution #252 of 20.09.2015, documents received from 10 parties didn't correspond to requirements established by the Law. These parties are: Socialist Party of Ukraine, Nova Syla all-Ukrainian party, HROMADA I ZAKON political party, CHILDREN OF WAR PEOPLE'S PARTY OF UKRAINE political party, VOLODYMYR MYKOLAIENKO BLOC political party, Narodna Syla political party, Sylna Derzhava political party, KHERSONTSI political party, Union. Chernobyl. Ukraine Social and Ecological Party, Ukrainian Cossack Party.
It should be mentioned that according to the data provided by the State Registration Department of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, 288 political parties have been registered in Ukraine as of 7 September in accordance with legally established procedure. Thus, 58 political parties were registered 1 year earlier than the voting day on 25 October 2015.
Starting today on 21 September, thirty four days before the day of voting, candidates to local councils or candidates for village, town or city mayors may be nominated. Registration documents can be submitted to territorial election commissions (TECs) by local organizations of political parties or by Ukrainian citizens to nominate themselves (only candidates for city, settlement, or village heads and candidates for members of village and settlement councils). Nomination of candidates continues till 30 September inclusive.
