Since May 9, voters can go to polling stations and check whether they are included in voter lists

May 8 is a deadline for the transference of preliminary voter lists and personal invitations to precinct election commissions of regular polling stations. It means that the voters can go to polling stations and check whether they are included in voter lists since May 9.

According to the Article 31(6) of the Law of Ukraine on Elections of the President of Ukraine, the State Voter Register maintenance body should provide one copy of the preliminary voter list and printed personal invitations (according to the Article 32(2) of this Law) to the corresponding precinct election commission, not later that sixteen days before the voting day.

The voters may come to their polling station and check their data in the register, or check them on website of the State Register of Voters.

According to the Article 31(3) of the Law of Ukraine on Elections of the President of Ukraine, every citizen has the right to check the voter list in the corresponding precinct election commission, and verify his/her personal information in it. Every citizen has the right to appeal to the corresponding precinct election commission or to the State Voter Register maintenance body, or to the closest court to the polling station regarding: inaccuracies in the preliminary voter list; if the voter or other persons are wrongly included or not included in voter lists; if the mark about voter's permanent inability to move independently is wrongly included or is absent.

Addresses of precinct election commissions are available on site of the CEC.

It should be mentioned, that precinct election commissions should send or deliver personal invitations to every voter till May 12. Invitations contain information about voter's inclusion in the preliminary voter list of the corresponding polling station, address of the precinct election commission, its phone number, working hours, time and place of voting. The voters, who are marked in voter lists as enable to move independently, should also be sent or delivered personal invitations by precinct election commissions, together with a notification about the possibility to vote at the place of stay.

If the invitation wasn't received, the voter should appeal to the polling station or check his/her information in the State Register of Voters.

Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action. Since March, OPORA conducts a wide observation campaign during snap Presidential election, interim Parliamentary elections (district #83), and special local elections. The organization cooperates with 175 long-term observers, who are watching the course of election campaign in all Ukrainian regions. On the Election Day on May 25, 3,000 activists will join them to conduct the parallel vote tabulation, based on statistical sample.
