On 13 March 2014, at 12:30 in the UNIAN information agency (Khreshchatyk St. 4), a press-conference for non-governmental organizations will be held, titled: "Anti-recessionary measures for fair elections. Public demands."
During the press-conference, representatives of core non-governmental organizations will present propositions to the Parliament and politicians regarding urgent measures needed to overcome challenges of electoral process. Today, the necessity to organize Presidential and local campaigns in accordance with key international principles and standards is especially high. Unfortunately, electoral legislation, particularly on Presidential elections and organization of local elections, needs to be urgently reconsidered and improved. Without adequate and fast decisions, elections may fail to result in overcoming the national political crisis. Besides that, there is a need to secure and help realize active voting right for citizens living in AR Crimea while it's occupied by foreign troops.
