On Wednesday, May 29, we received information that unknown people call citizens of Berehovo (Zakarpattia oblast) and introduce themselves as representatives of Civil Network OPORA. These pseudo-activists assert that they are conducting sociological poll, connected to special elections of Mayor that are to be held this Sunday, on June 2.
Therefore, Civil Network OPORA officially announces – OPORA's activists don't conduct any sociological polls in Berehovo city, by phone or in any other way.
On June 2, Civil Network OPORA will conduct civic observation and parallel vote tabulation during special elections of Berehovo City Mayor.
26 OPORA's observers will watch the election process in 13 polling stations and Berehovo territorial election commission. Mobile groups will operatively gather information about possible violations and inform the media about the course of elections.
Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the elections, as well as preventing violations through comprehensive civic action.
OPORA will also conduct parallel vote tabulation – an observation method, which allows gathering information about voter turnout and election results.
