In the electoral district 154 of Rivne Oblast, one of the candidate offered a reward of 20 thousand hryvnias for those who will inform him on the facts of bribery of voters.
Candidate for People's Deputy of Ukraine in the single-member election district No.154 Serhii Kostiuchko appealed to residents of the district with an offer to exchange information on the facts of bribery of voters for a reward. This is stated on the information posters distributed in Demydivka, Dubno, Zdolbuniv, Mlyniv, and Radyvyliv Raions. The candidate claims that in the district, votes of citizens are being massively bought in support of the pro-government candidate. In this regard, Serhii Kostiuchko announced a reward for reporting the facts being elements of a crime stipulated in Article 157 of the Criminal Code.
For providing information on a fact of bribery by another person in favour of a candidate for Deputy, Mr Kostiuchko promises 2 thousand hryvnias. For information on facts of bribery presenting lists of people who bound themselves to vote for remuneration — eight thousand hryvnias. For information on facts of bribery presenting lists of people who bound themselves to vote for remuneration in one of the administrative raions of the district — 20 thousand hryvnias.
According to the candidate's agent Oleksandr Bashmat, the campaign headquarters of Serhii Kostiuchko has already received several statements of citizens on bribery of voters. However, no rewards have been paid yet.
“Now we are checking the information provided and developing the procedure of money transfer,” says the agent. “Definitely, it will be a legal mechanism. On the basis of the information received, we will contact law enforcement agencies.”
