Election commission in Sumy oblast has established election date to Oblast Council for July 14, 2013.

The Commission has also discussed expediency of calling elections during its meeting. We remind that the elections were scheduled for April 14, but didn't take place due to the absence of financing. On April 15, the Election Commission had to pass a decision on the fact that the elections didn't take place.

We remind, that re-election is to be conducted in districts #14 (Konotop city and raion) and #40 (Kovpakiv district of Sumy city) in Sumy oblast.

Financing of the election campaign is also under the threat this time – the question of allocation of costs is not on the agenda of Oblast Council sitting scheduled for June 7. Despite the Head of the Central Finance Department of Sumy Oblast State Administration Yevhen Yuzhanov has informed during the sitting that 3 million UAH for the campaign are not available in oblast treasury, members of the Commission have decided to establish the date for elections.

9 candidates have been already registered.
