On March 31, 2019 the election for the post of President of Ukraine are held. Ukrainian citizens will be choosing among 39 registered candidates for the post of Head of State.

The voting will take place in 199 electoral districts in Ukraine (except for the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, Avtonomna Respublika Krym and the city of Sevastopol) and the only foreign electoral district. The estimated number of voters who will vote in 199 electoral districts is 29.9 million.

The approximate number of polling stations in 199 districts is 29 thousand 888, another 101 is in the foreign electoral district.

This year, citizens were able to change their voting location without changing the electoral address. In the 2019 presidential election, 315,725 voters used this opportunity. In the early election in 2014, there were 171,078 of those, who wanted to change the voting location, while on the regular parliamentary election of the same year - 190,283.

The record number of candidates for the first time was 44. After the refusal of individual candidates to run, their number decreased to 39. In the special election for presidency in 2014 23 candidates were running, in 2010 - 18.

At 07:15 a preparatory meeting of the polling station election commissions begins, and the voting starts at 8:00 and ends at 20:00. OPORA has designed a voter's memo on how to behave at the polling station in order to not break the law.

139 public organizations will be observing this year's election, among which more than 30 are directly related to the candidates. By the way, in the special presidential election of 2014, 10 civil society organizations were registered to observe.

Since October 2018, Civil Network OPORA is conducting a massive campaign of presidential election observation. Since the official launch of the campaign, 204 observers have been recruited throughout the country. On the voting day, more than 1500 observers joined them.

In addition, OPORA will perform parallel vote tabulation (PVT) in order to obtain election results much faster than official ones and more accurate than exit polls. On April 1, 2019, at 10:30 OPORA will present the results of the PVT in UNIAN press center.

OPORA will also promptly inform on the course of the day of voting by live coverage on the Facebook page of the organization (at 9:30, at 13:00, at 17:00, at 21:00), as well as:
